Established in 2022, the NHKP Baroque Chamber Orchestra has swiftly distinguished itself as one of Hong Kong’s foremost professional chamber ensembles. Comprised exclusively of Hong Kong’s finest musicians—each holding advanced performance degrees and boasting extensive professional credentials—the ensemble is devoted to illuminating the resplendent artistry of the Baroque era while reinforcing the region’s unique cultural narrative.

Guided by a dual commitment to meticulous historical authenticity and forward-looking innovation, the orchestra has secured prestigious engagements both locally and on the international stage. Recent highlights include lauded performances at the French May Arts Festival and the Emilia Romagna Concerti Ravenna Music Festival in Italy, as well as appearances at landmark commemorative events such as the 60th Anniversary of Dongjiang Water Supply to Hong Kong. In July 2024, under the auspices of Emilia Romagna Concerti, the ensemble embarked on its inaugural international tour, delivering four critically acclaimed concerts at storied venues including the Abbazia di Casola Valsenio and the UNESCO-listed Basilica di Sant’Apollinare Nuovo in Ravenna.

Building on this success, the orchestra was re-invited in August 2025 to perform in the Emilia Romagna Concerti series in Italy. This time, the ensemble captivated audiences with performances at the Chiesa di San Francesco in Colignola, the Chiesa di Lorenzo in Bocconi in Portici di Romagna, and the Chiesa di Santa Maria degli Angeli ex Convento dell’Osservanza. These engagements further solidified the orchestra's reputation as a leading force in the international classical music scene, bringing its signature blend of authenticity and innovation to some of Italy's most historic and evocative venues.

A distinguishing hallmark of the NHKP Baroque Chamber Orchestra is its visionary programming, which seamlessly bridges generations and transcends cultural boundaries. The ensemble has featured a stellar roster of both international and local soloists—including esteemed artists such as Domenico Nordio (Violin), Thomas Lai (Double Bass), Riccardo Zamuner (Violin), Diego Campagna (Guitar), Leung Kin Fung (Violin), Wong Sze Hang (Violin), Shiho Takashima (Violin), Yu Sun (Viola), Joseph Kam (Viola), Laurent Perrin (Cello), Yipwai Chow (Violin), and Vince Chua (Violin) —ensuring each performance is both virtuosic and deeply engaging.

Notably, in 2024 the orchestra presented the world premiere of Dr. Mui Kwong Chiu’s innovative multimedia work Beautiful Hong Kong, a commissioned piece that poignantly portrays diverse scenes of the city through a synthesis of live instrumentation, poetry, visual imagery, and sound effects, at a sold-out performance in the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall.
